If you entertain often or if you have a large family you may be the perfect candidate for buying a freestanding electric double oven range. While one oven is usually sufficient for most families there are times when having an additional oven available would be a tremendous time-saver and would also help any cooking to be done much more efficiently.

There are quite a variety of freestanding electric double oven ranges available, with most freestanding models still only measuring 30 inches across, meaning they can easily fit into most kitchens. Usually the smaller oven section is placed nearer the top of the stove, while the bigger oven goes on the bottom. If buying a double oven range one thing to confirm is that you are able to bake at two different temperatures. Most of these ovens come with a dual timing system too, to help you better keep track of your baking.

Both Whirlpool and General Electric have a good selection of double oven ranges, and other brands such as Maytag, Electrolux and Frigidaire also have some for sale. Double oven ranges are usually a little more expensive than the regular one-oven stove, with most popular brand ovens costing over $1000. It is possible to buy some for under $1000 but they often do not come with as many special features as the slightly higher priced models.

The best place to look into buying an oven such as this is at your local home appliance store. You will be able to thoroughly look it over to make sure it has all the options that you need, plus discuss any of your questions with the assistants. Once you have made up your mind as to what type of oven you will purchase, you could also check to see if the specific brand and model is available online. Purchasing online may mean that you will need to find someone to help you install the oven, but they are often cheaper to buy online than from a regular appliance store.
